Best Tiny Desk AI Songs and Videos: Ideas to Inspire Your Next Creation

The Format That Works for Everyone

One of the reasons the Outstanding Tiny Desk meme has lasted longer than most is that the format is genuinely universal. Charlie Wilson performing "Outstanding" behind that desk crammed with instruments carries a specific energy — pure joy, soulful and triumphant — and placing any face into that context creates something instantly shareable.

The comedy comes from contrast. The more unexpected the subject, the better it lands. A losing sports coach. Your accountant. A golden retriever. The desk doesn't care. The desk accepts all.

If you're about to use the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI tool on Oimi.ai and staring at a blank upload field wondering who to put behind the mic, here are ten ideas to get you going.

10 Creative Ideas for Your Tiny Desk AI Video

🎸 Taylor Swift The crossover nobody asked for and everyone would watch. Country-pop royalty at a jazz-funk desk, with the band fully invested. Share it with any Swifties in your life and watch the comments light up.

🐰 Bad Bunny Reggaeton energy colliding with acoustic-room soul. Bad Bunny already has enormous stage presence in real life — putting him in the Tiny Desk format would feel both absurd and completely natural at the same time.

💍 Your Wedding Party Put the groom behind the desk for the rehearsal dinner slideshow. Or the entire bridal party, one at a time. It's a better opening than a PowerPoint, and people will be talking about it for years.

📎 The Office Cast Imagine Michael Scott in full performance mode, swaying to "Outstanding," completely convinced he's killing it. Dwight on keys. Jim with the look. This one practically writes itself — and if you can find a decent press photo of each character, you have enough for a compilation.

🏈 Your Sports Team's Coach The original use case, and still one of the best. Whether your team is on a winning streak or just coming off a rough loss, putting the coach behind the Tiny Desk lands every time. Works for any sport, any level — your kid's youth league coach included.

👋 A Retiring Coworker Send-off parties deserve better than a sheet cake and a handshake. Give the retiree a proper moment: their face on the lead singer, their greatest career moments referenced in the caption. A genuinely memorable farewell gift.

🐕 Your Dog Yes, really. A clean, forward-facing photo of your dog's face is enough for the AI to work with. The result is a golden retriever absolutely committed to the performance, holding the mic with its paw. Caption it "Outstanding (feat. Biscuit)" and post without context.

🎙️ A Famous Politician Few things cut through political exhaustion like imagining your least favorite or most beloved politician genuinely in their soul-performance era. Keep it lighthearted — the desk is non-partisan.

🐉 A Fictional Character Daenerys Targaryen belting soul? Gandalf absolutely locked in on the sax? Characters from TV, film, or books with recognizable promotional images work surprisingly well. Great for fan communities.

👴 Your Grandparents This might be the most genuinely heartwarming use of the format. Find a good portrait, generate the video, and send it to the family group chat before a birthday or holiday. Grandma performing "Outstanding" is the kind of thing people screenshot and keep.

Making the Most of Each Video

A few things will make your results better regardless of who you're putting behind the desk:

• Use a clear, front-facing portrait with good lighting. The AI works best when it can read the full face.
• One face per video for the basic template. The advanced workflow on Oimi.ai lets you add two more people (sax and keys) for a full-band experience.
• Portrait orientation works better than landscape crops — head and shoulders, centered.

The turnaround is fast — typically 30 to 60 seconds per generation. That means you can try a few different photos or subjects in a single session without a long wait.
